For this project we were tasked with listening to some episodes from the podcast This American Life and create illustrations and an animation based on what we had gathered from the episodes

For this project we were tasked with picking a random podcast episode from This American Life, listening to it entirely then creating three illustrations to accompany the episode. The episode I chose was called “My Lying Eyes” and some of the highlights in the episode were about masculinity and the term we now know as “date rape”, climate change, and a Zoom interview that had everyone questioning their own eyes. With these ideas in mind I created three illustrations along with a web page displaying the illustrations in situation and an animation of one of my illustrations.

Editorial illustrations for representing different segments of This American Life #665: The Not-So-Great Unknown. These illustrations, meant to accompany the article, were designed on reference to the article, littered with references and metaphors. A context image shows what these illustrations would look like uploaded along with the original episode.

The purpose of this project was to illustration my own version of Editorial Illustrations after listening to an episode from This American Life Podcast. I created three illustrations for an episode of This American Life Podcast called, "STUCK!", with the first illustration being about a person stuck in a abusive relationship, the second illustration about the covid-19 vaccine, and the last illustration is about germs within our body.

Choosing a podcast from This American Life, we had to create an editorial that highlights key aspects. I chose a podcast called The Pink House, that is about a women's health clinic the day roe v wade was overturned. The podcast went through different stories of people and how the decision affects them.

The objective of this project was to choose a podcast from This American Life and create editorial illustrations that represent the small stories within the podcast episode. I chose the podcast called In Dog We Trust and the illustration style of geometric, simple shapes pushed me outside my comfort zone and expanded my design skills. Each small story was unique and really fun to create illustrations for in this new style. The stories focused on pets and the loss of them throughout your life, but also your connections with them while they are in your life. Once we created the editorial illustrations, we were tasked with putting them in situation and include them on the website, where the podcast lives.

After listening to the This American Life Podcast episode: Made To Be Broken, I illustrated each of the stories from the podcast. The fist story was about an Uber driver strike in Kenya, who still drove, but passengers cancelled through the app then paid in cash. The second story was protesting time access, and the final story the unfairness of a classroom reward system.

"Math or Magic?" is a podcast by This American Life that talks about love and how people feels it comes about. I illustrated three scenes from the podcast to bring to life the stories and theories shared.
