This project asked me to display a collection through a catalog and website. I created Phlora, Phauna, Philly: a collection of plants animals, and the place they call home. It showcases my photography and illustrations of Philadelphia's plants, animals, and natural sites. With this collection, my goal was to emphasize nature within the every day, highlighting how our urban environment isn’t as far from nature as it may seem.

Catalog of various unique jewelry pieces from my own collection as well as form a few of my friends. Inspired by 50s and 60s advertisements for name brand pieces. Illustrations were original photos that were also inspired by the vintage style of illustration. Patterns and embellishes based off of classic victorian style jewelry boxes but with a modern twist.

For my Collection Catalog, I chose to focus on my Playbill collection. Because Playbills are image based, the primary issue I faced was how to create unique imagery that was entirely my own rather than relying on the Playbills. In order to do this, I illustrated silhouettes and combined them with manipulated photographs from original Broadway productions. Throughout the catalog and website, this imagery is paired with light motifs, as well as a high-contrast sans serif for display type and a serif for body copy. The actual Playbills are treated as small reference images throughout the essay, while also being featured in the collection section of the project and the end paper.

Polo the Story of Ralph Lauren is a Collection Catalog that explores Polo throughout it's lifetime as a brand. All my life I have rocked the Polo brand, but never understood the cultural significance this brand has throughout the world. Using the brand's official typeface, allowed me to design how this book will look on display at one of its stores.

The main aspect of this project was learning how to deal with large amounts of text within a grid. For my collection I chose a NASCAR collection if Dale Earnhardt Jr and Sr, since I knew nothing about NASCAR I conducted research and used my findings as my body copy. Along with text within the book I used my own photography and imagery that correspond with my topic. Since I had a lot of body copy to deal with I also used multiple sidebars within the catalog. The sidebars included flag communications, pit stops, a timeline, and the current and former name series.

This is a website based off of the collection catalog, I had to transfer my print design to a digital design while trying to keep the same characteristics. In a digital format I was able to make my designs interactive. You can see this with the side bars on the Closer Look Into NASCAR page. The flag communication and current vs. former series slide horizontally on an infinite scroll page. You can move around the different sections found in the catalog with a nav bar at the top of the screen. I kept most of the same photography and imagery that was used in the catalog but adjusting it to suit a digital platform.

I created a Collection Catalogue of my mother's cork collection. This posed a lot of challenges in itself as corks are usually on the sidelines of the wine. I had to figure out a way to make the corks shine and determine the importance of information on wine and cork history. I solved this by focusing on the history of the cork itself and detailing the distinction of different corks based on usage.

The Extraordinary Story of Beanie Babies is a collection catalog of my siblings and my Beanie Babies from our Childhood. The book is about the history of the beanie babies rise to extreme popularity and my childhood memories with them. I used a playful typeface to display titles and some poems about the beanie babies. I used silhouettes of the Babies and scanned crayon drawings to make them feel like they’re interacting with each other on the page. I wanted to use children’s toys and materials for a serious project.

For this project, we were tasked to create a collection catalogue to be displayed in the design center. For my collection, I displayed different items with butterfly designs. I have collected objects with butterflies for as long as I can remember, and I aimed to reflect this in my design. My collection gives me a youthful and playful feeling, so I aimed to recreate this with a lighter color palette as well as hand drawn illustrations.

The purpose of this project was to create a catalogue outlining a collection of our choosing. I chose to base my catalogue around polyhedral dice, more commonly known as dnd dice! Because dnd and gaming dice in general have such a masculine identity associated with them, I wanted to challenge that by bringing more pop and femininity to the project. To do this, I chose to work with pastels and only photograph bright and colorful dice.

Faced with making a book about a collection, I gravitated toward bowling. It holds nostalgia for me, and the game itself is portrayed as being nostalgic as most venues are frozen in time. I wanted to capture some of the look of how one thinks about bowling in the present day while showing some of the history and lesser known aspects of the game.
