The problem we were tasked with solving was creating a magazine and a website for the magazine. We had to choose our topic and do research, then layout the magazine and put it together. Then we created the website with the design elements from the magazine.

URBANIST is a quarterly print & digital publication dedicated to fostering community within the urban art scene by telling the story of artists and their cities around the world. Each issue focuses on the unique urban art scene of a specific city. The publication shows each city at a macro to micro level by covering topics that span historical and cultural impacts, city-wide initiatives and events, community initiatives and events, and emerging artists and the individual.

Sidewalk is a publication focused on merging Urban design with an easily digestible understanding of design as a whole. For this project I fully designed a publication, creating all of the artwork seen within. The beginning stages of the project focused on developing a brand image and graphic style, and turned into researching and developing three feature articles along with two departments.

Gridless’ audience is anyone interested in sustainable living; often the “outdoorsy” type, likes hiking, etc. To embody the “gridless” aesthetic, its design features distorted grids, scattered images, and mixed typography.

VERSE is a quarterly publication dedicated to making comic books more accessible as well as providing a level of analysis and criticism to this media. VERSE aims to fulfill a niche for comics readers who want a deeper look into the stories they love as well as providing a foundation on important characters and stories for new readers. VERSE has a heavy focus especially on diversity within comics themselves as well as the industry as a means to combat the stereotype of comic books as a very straight, cis, white male dominated hobby.
