As part of a study of type on screen, I designed an interface for an iOS mobile app named ClearView Mobile Banking, which combines the functions of bank account management, account spend analyzer, and money transferring. This app design includes a fully functional home screen, navigation, and screen sequence.

The Blue app is a mental health app created to be used when you're feeling low, depressed or blue. Blue is meant to help the user make this period of time as easy as possible by offering brief check ins and pre-written communication features that you can send to anyone in your contacts. Typically when we aren't feeling great emotionally it is just best to recharge and Blue is meant to be made quick for the user with its use of icons that can be quickly selected so the user can describe how they are feeling. There are also other features meant to help you process your emotions if you choose to go more in depth such as the CBT guided prompts, journaling, and audio recording.

Headway, is a headache tracking app that allows the user to track multiple headache triggers depending on their specific needs. After creating a SWOT analysis to evaluate similar existing apps, I came up with a few improvements to implement into my app design. These improvements included increased customization, a straightforward and organized layout, quick data entry, and a darker color palette to avoid worsening a user’s headache. The app also provides automatic charts summarizing the user’s data over time.

iRun is a GPS tracking running app that also features an in-app music player. Select your favorite songs and track your runs on the go.

My app, New Leaf, is a hybrid social media and “dating” app with a target demographic of college students. The app’s purpose revolves around connecting to and starting relationships, whether they be platonic or romantic, with fellow students who are also… turning over a new leaf. New Leaf would feature highly personalizable profiles and settings including various alternative color schemes as well as support for in-chat calls and messages with individual buds as well groups the user may be in.

When considering what kind of app to create I thought about my upcoming trip abroad. I have never travelled by myself before and I have no idea how to plan for something as complex as going overseas so I wanted to make an easy trip planner. Traventure is an organization and exploration app that helps to keep all of your important information in an easily accessible spot. The explore option helps you to search for things to do in the area you're staying at or places your planning to visit. It provides immediate access to directions and the website for whatever activity you may be interested in. This app is meant to help you prepare before your trip as well as keep you on track while away.

Many people love to journal and express themselves through creative layout pages and doodles in Bullet Journals. On the other hand, some people do not have the time to create a physical Bullet Journal and carry it around with them. With my app, Your Bujo, you can have a Bullet Journal at your fingertips! With so much creative freedom, there are so many capabilities to make your own Bullet Journal!

Starting out this project, our class created lists of different tasks that can be tracked and how they can be incorporated into an app. My idea was to create Cineverse, an app that collects data of both movies and shows you’ve watched and puts them into different categories, such as a library feature, tracking feature, etc.

This project focused on the exploration of typographic nuances on screen. We specifically had to focus on type selection, hierarchy and relationships, layout, navigational components, input controls and informational components. My solution was a simple and easy to use travel budgeting app. The clean type and hierarchies I chose to use made my app legible and easy to follow. I paid attention to detail when it came to the process of budgeting and splitting money, as well as, the navigation throughout my app.

I first designed my app buy figuring out all the key features and basic layout of my app with no introduction of color i was able to, test the functioning layout before i added any color to visualize where the eye is drawn to. Then after all my basic layout was done i started manipulating the buttons and text to be aesthetically pleasing with curvature themes. I then added color, my first two color themes where bland, with the type of app im making all the competitors have dark vibrant color themes or their all white. I wanted to find a nice middle of these two extremes. This ended up being bland and boring, so i went with a darker and vibrant color theme.

For this project we were tasked to design an app that will be used to track an activity. I chose to do mine on keeping tracks of books you've read and books you want to read. A challenge for this project was wanting to add too many features for users, which would have confused most users with an overabundance of features. A solution to this problem was to narrow down those features to ones users need the most.

Root is a mental health tracking app that also introduces the idea of community. In Root, new users will first pick a quiz to take that lines up for what they think they have. The user can keep taking that quiz to track their progress. After the quiz they go to the home page. I made the homepage resemble instagram so the target audience would feel familiar and safe when using this app. My typography consisted of Josefin Sans and Playfair Display. I wanted the type to be both fun and functional. The stories at the top of the homepage include imagery of flowers to play off of the name Root. I added a signature rainbow gradient throughout the app to give a calming and welcoming user experience.

For this project I decided to create a running app that tracks your runs easily. I created an app on the phone and the smart watch. EZ run always runners to see all their previous runs and play the music through the app. I also incorporated a badge system that runners can unlock the more they run. My goal is to keep users motivated to run and stay active.
