For this project, we were challenged to essentially make our own branding, with a business card, resume, and cover letter. I created many logo sketches, but struggled with the ligature of my initials, “OP”, together. Once I found a more geometric font and played with how they fit together, the elements of my project began to form. I noticed the similarities of the bowls of the two letters, and took the descender of the “p” to form a pinwheel shape/pattern. I then took that same slanted descender and used it as a design element throughout the pieces for a consistent look

As students making our way into working in the design community, we had to make a resume to display our skills and past experience, to interest employers and show that we have what it takes. My resume is gray in color, but has some personality with a wax stamp seal logo and matching cover letter and business card. It shows professionalism and also a bit of my fun personality.

I decided to use my middle name,Rose, in my branding. I loved the way Tara Rose sounded and I knew I had the opportunity to incorporate roses in my imagery. After searching over 100 fonts I came across Niagara and knew that this font represented me best. I then sketched a one line drawing of a rose and incorporated it into my name. My color palette consisted of a light peach color, with two blues to compliment it. For my business card, I took the head of the one line rose and turned it into an organic pattern and inverted my color palette to give my card contrast. My resume and cover letter consisted of my logo and contact information inside of a light peach bar to the left of my other text. I kept the same grid throughout my design and I used the font Trade Gothic for my resume and cover letter information.

My resume i wanted to be clean and simple, while showing off my logo large in the top right corner of the page. I organized my information so the reader can briefly look over my qualifications with type hierarchy the reader can view all the information they need in headings and subheadings. Then having more in depth information in paragraph styles. I struggles with the hierarchy at first with the font sizing being to similar between some aspects but also too dramatic between others. i feel Like i overcame that hierarchy in my design.
