I chose to redesign Victoria Monet's Jaguar II for this album redesign project. I wanted to capture the essence of the album's feminine yet powerful sound in my design. First, I experimented with carving the word "Jaguar" into pieces of paper cardboard with a knife. Then, I drew it on Fresco; I made sure to capture the jagged edges a knife can make when carving into something. Monet regards this album as a new beginning for her. I therefore chose to make the letters seem as if they carve into someone's back to signify losing a part of you. I then added flowers with pink and purple hues to my design to add a feminine touch and connect to how to album feels. I used those said flowers from the front cover to create a repeating pattern on the back. The inside includes a pink gradient and flower arrangements.

For this project, I redesigned a vinyl album of my choice, Superache by Conan Gray. The album explores themes of heartbreak, love, confusion, and pain, and I wanted to capture those emotions in my design. I photographed handwritten love letters scattered across red silk, covered in rose petals and lipstick kisses, to reflect the intense feelings of anger and longing present throughout the album. I then created an animated lyrics video for the song People Watching from the album.

In this project, we were tasked with redesigning an existing album, and I chose OK Computer, the 1997 concept album by Radiohead. While working on the redesign, I listened to the album repeatedly, aiming to capture its chaotic, melancholic tone and reflect the themes of isolation, alienation, and anti-capitalism. The album accurately depicts the future battle between electronics and humanity.

The final project of the semester was the Vinyl construction/animation. We were to choose an album of our choice and develop a vinyl designed typographically as well as animate a lyric video of a section of one of the songs from the album. I chose the album "Stick Season" by Noah Kahan as it is one of my favorites of all times and I felt confident in my ability to design something that I felt so connected with. I also chose to animate the 2nd chorus from the song "Orange Juice" on the album as it is a song that means a lot to me.

This project’s parameters were typographically redesigning a vinyl for an album of our choice, including the front and back covers, the inside where all lyrics had to be laid out, and the label on the vinyl itself. I decided to redesign an album by Mac Miller, Swimming. I drew my concept of the warped/wavy type on the front cover from the psychedelic nature of the music, as well as the obvious reference to water, with the title being Swimming, that I incorporated beneath the stylized text. I went through several iterations of color and distortions that I did by hand until I settled on this one. After designing all the elements, I printed everything and carefully constructed the album using chipboard for the front and back, as well as for the pocket for the vinyl.

For my redesign of Visions by Grimes, I drew inspiration from the album's ethereal soundscapes and the backstory of its creation. Grimes famously produced the album in a state of isolation and intense creativity, describing her process as almost otherworldly. To reflect this, I utilized gradient colors that evoke a vision of shifting hues, symbolizing the interplay of emotions, energy, and artistic freedom that define the album.
