Task: Create an infographic displayed on a specific location on campus appropriate to the information provided by the piece.
Situated on the ceiling of the Gutman Library, this infographic explores the causes, statistics, and effects of light pollution. The piece covers both ceiling panels (text) and windows (stars). The location of the infographic is meant to invoke the action of looking up at the night sky, which heavy light pollution threatens by suffocating starlight. The first page portrays the project in situ, while the second has a simple line drawing version to highlight the infographic itself, along with a sample of text to scale.

The environmental infographic project taught us how to design an informational piece without flooding the whole thing with text. We studied different fonts to try and figure out which ones fit best into our design. We had to pick a topic and space on campus and create an environmental infographic that informs the viewer on said issue.

Using typography and infographics, I wanted to raise awareness on mental health in student-athletes. I had signage hanging up in the locker room that showed infographics based on the results from a survey that I sent out to student-athletes at Jefferson, as well as quotes and statements that I found impactful. I designed magnets that would be on the insides of athlete's lockers for an individual perspective. They would select colors for each emotion, and then see what emotions they were feeling over the course of a week. I would also have a number grid screen outside of the locker room where athletes could tap the number they were feeling and it would then light up the average answer for the coaches to see.

For this project, students were asked to pair a location on campus with a researched concept to make an environmental infographic visible and public.

For my info Pop-up project, I decide to choose a sensitive topic which is Sexual Harassment on college Campus. The task was to bring attention to a call to action and convince my audience the severity of the topic. The main audience was college students on Jefferson East Falls campus who are affected and unaffected. I hate the fact that the process was very long for this project but I am very happy with how it turned out at the end result.

I decided to choose a problem that was very important to me, as well as something people tend to overlook. Type 2 diabetes is a disease in which cases grow every day, and a lot of people don't know where to start when it comes to prevention. My pop-up project introduces facts about type 2 diabetes, the steps you can take to prevent it, as well as a small q&a about frequently asked questions.

For this assignment, my goal was to choose a location on the Jefferson University East Falls campus and create an installation popup providing some kind of information to students on campus. My project centered around voter turnout rates in America, and specifically promoted a message to encourage students to vote because every vote is important in both national and local elections. My info popup was designed to be placed within the walls of bathroom stalls across the campus, so that when the stalls were being used the information took over the user's entire surrounding environment. I designed the popup to really attract the viewer’s attention and create an intimate 1-on-1 interaction between the viewer and the information being presented to them.

For our infographic project, we had to come up with an information graphic of our choosing, mine being video games and how they positively affect people. We had to pick a certain location across campus and make smart design choices to make sure our project is visually communicating well to our specific audiences.

Problem: Providing information presented in a non-traditional way. Making sure the people who interact with the piece understand it fully despite the info not being laid out for the reader on one sheet of paper.
Solution: Creating an informational pop-up that readers can interact with the installations and understand the content by using visuals provided by the space. Information is clear and concise, given the amount of time the reader interacts with the space provided.

The environmental infographic is set in a multi-unit series, spanning across the external walls of Jefferson's on-campus convenience store, Ted's. With the use of typography in various scales and weights alongside iconic imagery, the overall design displays the harmful effects of the high caffeine levels contained within energy drinks. As it is located on the way to and from the source of these drinks, the infographic is also expressed in a bold, but recognizable manner, successfully informing others of these potential health risks.

I was fist tasked with creating an infographic. I chose to design a graphic about the discretionary spending habits of off campus college students at Jefferson. I designed an interactive kiosk to go outside the front doors of the Kanbar Center. It would display relevant news and current events as well as infographics.
