Anime Archives is a magazine that narrates the evolution of the anime art style and genres from the 1960s to the 2010s. Throughout the magazine, fan art illustrations and original anime imagery are used to highlight some of the most popular anime shows throughout history.

The name of the magazine is "The Liquid Alchemist" and the publication includes a type and grid system with original body copy and digital illustrations. With the physical publication, a Figma website prototype displays the three feature and two department stories as well as a page with alternative edition cover page examples.

Deeply Rooted knows that everyone has their roots somewhere, deeply entwined with the histories of all those who came before. This inspires their dedicated mission to share the stories of these places and the people within them. This issue is focused on Philadelphia, with three feature stories about historical Philadelphia homes, such as Elfreth’s Alley and Glen Foerd on the Delaware. Two additional department stories talk about other historical Philadelphia treasures, like Edgar Allen Poe National Historical Site. The accompanying website shows how the visual language of Deeply Rooted’s physical publication can transfer into a digital format.

This issue is a deep dive into fears, where the psychology of fear, childhood fears, and how to overcome fears is discussed. My illustrations for each feature connect directly to the topics being discussed. Extra information about fears is included in the department’s A-Z list of phobias, fear vs. phobia, and the most common fears. Conquer keeps the atmosphere light and positive even when addressing serious topics.
