Controversy
Students were asked to design an artifact that provides equal narrative of all sides of a controversial social, political, environmental, cultural or human rights issue. The form of the project, (printed piece, interactive/digital, exhibit/environmental, product, etc.) was determined by extensive research on the selected topic.
Bucks County Free Library
This semester we collaborated with alum Zach Faust, the Creative Services Administrator at Bucks County Free Library.
Public libraries today are at a critical juncture. Approaching the turn of the millennium, many questioned whether public libraries would become obsolete in the age of online information. Twenty years later, many public libraries have successfully transformed themselves from being chiefly about materials to being community anchors for formal and informal learning, technology access, workforce development, and community engagement. With this in mind, student groups to work collaboratively throughout the semester to develop a large-scale, multi-component design system to address the problem statement, How might we we use systems and service design to enhance community outreach for the Buck County Free Library?
